Job Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage the Engineering Department during hotel pre-opening and ensure all engineering systems are fully prepared before hotel opening.
- Develop and implement engineering policies, procedures, preventive maintenance plans, and operational standards in compliance with company requirements.
- Oversee all engineering operations including MEP systems (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing), HVAC, Fire Life Safety Systems, Building Management Systems (BMS), and hotel facilities.
- Manage pre-opening activities including project handover, equipment inspection, testing & commissioning, and defect rectification with contractors and consultants.
- Establish preventive and corrective maintenance programs to ensure reliability, safety, and efficiency of all hotel facilities and equipment.
- Monitor energy consumption, utilities usage, and maintenance costs to improve operational efficiency and reduce expenses.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, statutory requirements, and hotel engineering standards.
- Manage and control engineering budgets, CAPEX projects, spare parts inventory, and operational expenses.
- Coordinate with all departments to support daily operations and ensure guest comfort, safety, and service quality.
- Manage external contractors, suppliers, and service providers to ensure quality standards and cost effectiveness.
- Lead, train, and develop the Engineering team to achieve high performance and operational excellence.
- Prepare engineering reports, maintenance updates, and recommendations for the General Manager and management team.
- Support sustainability initiatives, energy-saving programs, and continuous improvement projects.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in Engineering operations, preferably in luxury hotels or hospitality industry.
Previous experience as Chief Engineer, in a hotel environment.
- Strong experience in hotel pre-opening projects, building systems setup, testing & commissioning, and facility management.
- Strong knowledge of MEP systems, HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, fire safety systems, and building maintenance.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs, energy management, and engineering cost control.
- Experience managing contractors, suppliers, and engineering projects.
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and team management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and work under pressure.
- Good communication skills with the ability to work effectively with GM, consultants, contractors, and all departments.
- Good command of English communication skills is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering management systems.

Required Certification / Professional Qualification (Preferred):

Professional Engineering License (if applicable).
Certified training in Fire Safety, Energy Management, Wast Water Management or related engineering fields is an advantage.
