Barceló Hotel Group is seeking a seasoned and strategic Regional Sales Manager to lead our commercial operations across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. This role will begin with a four-month assignment based in Phuket, where the selected candidate will be immersed in Barceló’s sales strategy and operations, with a strong focus on our flagship property in the area. Following this initial period, the role would transition to our regional sales office in Bangkok.
As a key leader in the organization, you will be responsible for driving regional growth, executing commercial strategy, and building strong market presence across diverse APAC territories.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Regional Strategy:
Define and coordinate the commercial strategy and business plan for the APAC region in close collaboration with global teams in Spain and Dubai.
- Initial Training & Onboarding in Phuket:
Spend the first four months at our Phuket hotel, gaining a comprehensive understanding of our sales approach and operational goals in the region.
- Sales Implementation:
Roll out regional initiatives across all APAC properties, adapting global strategy to meet local market needs and performance targets.
- Market Insight & Development:
Monitor regional trends and competitors to identify strategic growth opportunities, and recommend initiatives to increase market share and brand awareness.
- Client Development & Retention:
Cultivate strong relationships with new and existing clients throughout Asia, maintaining a customer-centric approach to commercial growth.
- Cross-functional Collaboration:
Work alongside Revenue Management, Marketing, and European Sales teams to ensure consistency, efficiency, and alignment across all commercial activities.
- Representation & Engagement:
Represent Barceló Hotel Group at regional industry events, trade fairs, and conferences, and foster institutional relationships within the APAC tourism and hospitality sectors.
Who We’re Looking For
An experienced, driven, and market-savvy professional who thrives in dynamic international environments. You are commercially strategic, client-focused, and passionate about hospitality and travel.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality, Tourism, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a commercial or senior sales role within the hospitality sector in Asia.
- Deep knowledge of the APAC travel and tourism market; prior experience in Thailand highly recommended.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven expertise in Revenue Management, Sales Strategy Development, Negotiation, and Performance Monitoring.
- Independent, Highly Motivated, and Results-Oriented.
